CATAPULT® 480 SL .
Catapult is a wide-ranging herbicide used mainly for killing weeds, especially annual broadleaf weeds and grasses. It functions by blocking plant enzymes necessary for the production of aromatic amino acids like tyrosine, tryptophan, and phenylalanine. Glyphosate is taken in mostly through leaves and to a lower degree through roots, then moved to the plant’s growing points.
Application
- Maize fields, Non-cropped areas
- Young broadleaf weeds, Annual & Biennial grasses, Perennial weeds (e.g., Couch grass & sedges)
- 4L/ha in 200 liters of water (200ml/20L)
- CATAPULT® 480 SL should be applied as a post-emergent herbicide to vigorously growing weeds directly onto the foliage and immature bark, typically at the end of raining seasons. Application should be avoided if rain is expected within 4 hours. To ensure optimal results, spray coverage should be uniform and complete, avoiding spraying weed foliage to the point of run-off.
- CATAPULT® 480 SL should be applied as a post-emergent herbicide to vigorously growing weeds directly onto the foliage and immature bark. Spraying should be avoided if rain is expected within 4 hours. Optimal results are achieved with uniform and complete spray coverage.
- Weeds under poor growing conditions, such as drought stress, disease, or insect damage, should not be treated, as it may result in reduced weed control effectiveness. Similarly, poor results may occur if weeds are treated while heavily covered with dust or have been recently mowed, grazed, or cut without allowing them to re-grow to the recommended stage for treatment. Rain or irrigation within 6 hours after application may reduce effectiveness.
- Pre-harvest Interval (PHI): 7 days
Uses
Half-fill the spray tank (knapsack sprayer) with water, add the required amount of CATAPULT® 480 SL, then fill the water to the required level, and mix thoroughly to ensure uniformity. It is important to use the mixture on the same day it is prepared.
Storage
Treated areas should not be entered during the restricted entry interval of 12 hours, unless individuals are wearing cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and all other necessary protective gear, which must be washed after every use.
