Simlaw Seeds history runs back to 9th October when two English Gardeners Simpson and Whitelaw registered it as a company then under the Indian companies’ act 1882. In 1968 the company was acquired by Kirchoff East Africa, a South African based company. Kenya Seed Company acquired Simpson and Whitelaw in 1979. In 2002 it was registered as Simlaw Seeds Company Limited. The main responsibility of Simlaw Seeds is producing, importing, marketing and distributing superior and reliable vegetable seeds for commercial and domestic use. The company has a wide range of seeds that have penetrated the market well .these includes: Cabbages; Onions and Tomatoes that are adaptable to various climatic conditions and adequately meet the local demand. Other type of beans such as Red Kidney, New Rose coco, Kenya Early and climber bean varieties such as Kenya Safi and Kenya Mavuno. Malenge Gabbar F1

Malenge Gabbar F1 is a hybrid pumpkin variety prized for its large, uniform fruits and high productivity. It is suitable for both small-scale and commercial farming.

Features

  • Produces large, round fruits with a uniform size, weighing between 4-6 kg.
  • The skin is a deep orange, and the flesh is bright orange, dense, and sweet.
  • Capable of producing multiple fruits per vine, ensuring a good harvest.
  • Resistant to common pumpkin diseases such as powdery mildew.
  • Fruits are ready for harvest in about 100-120 days after planting.

Application

  • Prefers well-drained, fertile soils with a pH of 6.0-7.5.
  • Requires full sun for optimal growth.
  • Needs regular watering, especially during fruit development.
  • Plant seeds 1-2 inches deep, spaced 3-4 feet apart in rows 5-6 feet apart to allow for vine growth.

Storage

  • Store in a cool, dry place for several months.
  • Avoid bruising the fruits to extend their shelf life.
  • For longer storage, keep in a dry, well-ventilated area with temperatures between 50-55°F.
