- Sow seeds directly in the garden 2-4 weeks before the last expected frost date. Plant seeds about 1/4 inch deep in loose, well-drained soil with a pH of 6.0 to 6.8.
- Space seeds or seedlings approximately 2–3 inches apart to allow for proper root development.
- Keep soil consistently moist, but not waterlogged, to support healthy growth.
- Apply a balanced fertilizer during planting and again midway through the growing season to ensure robust growth.
- Harvest when roots are firm and have reached the desired size, typically 70-80 days after planting. Gently pull the carrots from the soil, being careful not to damage the roots.
