Uses
Okra Clemson Spineless is widely used in culinary applications. The tender pods are commonly used in soups, stews, and curries, and can be fried, boiled, or pickled. It is also valued for its nutritional benefits, being rich in vitamins A and C, fiber, and antioxidants.
Application
- Sow seeds directly in well-drained soil, 1-2 cm deep, spaced about 30 cm apart. Ideal soil temperature for germination is between 24-30°C.
- Maintain consistent moisture, especially during flowering and pod development.
- Harvest pods when they are 5-7 cm long for best tenderness and flavour.
- Fresh okra pods should be stored in a cool, humid environment. They can be refrigerated in perforated plastic bags for up to a week.
