Our wide range of vegetable seeds varieties are carefully selected in local screening and field demo trials across Africa and corresponding breeding locations by our seeds suppliers. We carefully source and select varieties that have unique characteristics such as tolerance to common pests and diseases, high germination vigour, short day maturity and higher yield with an aim of giving growers maximum profitability.

Onion Texas Grano
Onion Texas Grano is a sweet, large onion variety prized for its mild flavour and versatility in cooking. It is particularly well-suited to the warm climates of Kenya, producing high yields with proper care.
Features
- 100-120 days from planting.
- Large, globe-shaped bulbs with yellowish-brown skin.
- Typically 3-4 inches in diameter.
- Sweet and mild, ideal for raw or cooked applications.
- Thrives in warm, well-drained soils.
Uses
- Excellent for raw consumption in salads, sandwiches, and as a topping. Ideal for caramelizing, grilling, and adding to various dishes.
- Rich in vitamins C and B6, folate, and antioxidants.
- Suitable for both small-scale and commercial farming.
Application
- Start seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before transplanting outdoors, or sow directly in the garden after the threat of frost. Plant seeds 1/2 inch deep and space plants 4-6 inches apart.
- Ensure consistent watering, particularly during bulb formation.
- Harvest when bulbs reach desired size and tops begin to fall over.
- Cure onions in a dry, ventilated area for 2-3 weeks before storing in a cool, dry place. Properly cured onions can last for several months.
